Common Questions from Buyers and Sellers

In today's world of information overload, it's important to pinpoint the things that are important to people when they are looking to hire a Realtor®.  Several studies have been done to identify the areas that matter most, but essentially the majority of people just want straight answers to some basic questions.

HOME BUYERS - COMMON QUESTIONS

1. Why should I choose you?

2. Are you a full-time Realtor®? How much experience do you have?

3. Do you work mostly with Buyers or with Sellers?

4. How well do you know the areas where I am looking to buy a home?

5. How patient (and available) are you with your Buyers?

5. Can you help me with other aspects of the buying process (lenders, inspectors, etc.).

6. Do I need to sign a contract with you?

HOME SELLERS - COMMON QUESTIONS

1. Why should I choose you?

2. Why should I choose your Company?

3. What exactly will you do to help me?

4. What's my home worth?

5. What's happening in the market?

6. How much do you charge?

The response you can expect from your questions?

With such a large number of Realtors® in today’s marketplace, the responses you will get to the above questions will be quite varied. In order to make a good decision, you should feel comfortable that you can trust the Realtor®, they are adequately qualified, and that they will give you the focus and attention you want and need in order to make the process run as smoothly as possible.

If you are interviewing a Realtor® Team, it is often the Team Leader that will meet with you, but it may be the last time you see him or her, as the job is often passed to a less experienced member of the team once the agreement to work together is secured. If you are looking for continuity with the person you interview, than understand this may not happen if a different team member takes over the selling or buying process.

Making the best decision for you

In order to achieve success, whether buying or selling a home, it's always recommended to check the references of the Realtor® you are considering hiring. You should speak with references directly and ask specific questions about the process they went through, the availability of their Realtor®, whether the end result was achieved, and discuss their overall level of satisfaction.

It's All About You

It really is all about you. There are hundreds of Realtors® working in the area, and you have a choice of selecting someone who will not only get you the results you want, but also help ensure the process runs smoothly and is as enjoyable as possible. Their focus needs to be on you - you deserve it!
